Missouri Animal Control Association

The mission of the Missouri Animal Control Association (MACA) is to provide professional training, education, and support for Animal Care & Control professionals across Missouri and neighboring states. MACA aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of its members, who include animal control officers, humane investigators, law enforcement officers, veterinarians, animal shelter managers, and others in the field. The primary focus is on improving animal welfare through education, law enforcement, and legislative advocacy.

By fostering  knowledgeable and skilled professionals, MACA strives to create environments where animals are protected, their welfare is prioritized, public health risks associated with animals are minimized, and their rights are upheld under the law.

Professional Training and Education: Offer comprehensive training programs and educational resources that enhance the skills and knowledge of Animal Care & Control professionals, emphasizing both animal welfare and public health and safety.

    1. Support for Members: Provide a network of support and resources for members, fostering collaboration and sharing of best practices among professionals in the field to better serve communities and animals.

    2. Advocacy and Legislation: Advocate for policies and legislation that promote the welfare of animals and protect public health and safety, ensuring that laws safeguard animals from cruelty and neglect while addressing community safety concerns.

    3. Community Engagement: Engage with the community to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership, animal welfare issues, and the role of Animal Care & Control professionals in promoting public health and safety.

    4. Public Health and Safety: Develop and promote initiatives that address public health and safety issues related to animals, such as disease prevention, rabies control, and safe interactions between humans and animals.

    5. Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve programs and services offered by MACA to meet the evolving needs of its members, the animals they serve, and the communities they protect.
